27. Someone Benefits when You Feel Bad About Yourself and Your Body

from Self Love Ignited with Katie Allen · host Katie Allen

Chances are at some point in your life, you have felt bad about yourself and your body. Bad about how you looked. Maybe about your weight, your cellulite, your dimples, or your stretch marks Bad about what you wanted or needed. Bad about your desires and dreams. Bad about putting yourself first. This is unfortunately SO common amongst women. But have you ever stopped and wondered who benefits when you feel bad? The fact is that society and the media are constantly telling us to feel bad. Specifically looking at body image, we are always told that if we're thinner, we'll be happier. That if we can achieve that "ideal" body shape and size, we'll be more successful, we'll find true love, and we'll finally be confident. The truth is that if nobody benefited from this message, we wouldn't be inundated with it every single day. This episode turned into a bit of a rant on the diet industry (#sorrynotsorry) and really looking at the endless cycle they keep women in to keep the money flowing. When you feel bad about yourself, you want to feel better. They promise that their new diet is the quick fix to this, with the full knowledge that you are almost guaranteed failure. When this happens, you try again... and likely get the same result. But you are made to feel like there's something wrong with you, so you feel even worse. Only to start again on Monday morning... See where this is going?? Your failure is their success. But there IS a better way. I have an invitation for an upcoming virtual event that might just be what you need to turn this cycle around! _____ Get in touch with Katie here: 💗 Access The Body Peace Summit 💗 Instagram: www.instagram.com/katieallencoaching 💗 Facebook: www.facebook.com/katieallencoaching 💗 Free Members Hub
