59. Being Trauma-Informed with Gunjani Patel

from The Mindful Psychology Podcast · host Geneviève A. B - Island Yogi Therapist

Hi everyone, Today on the show we are once again joined by Gunjani Patel for Part 2 of our important discussion around mental health awareness. It was such a pleasure to chat with her about raising awareness around mental health, normalising mental health, and ending the stigma associated with it. We also talk about how to properly educate ourselves and stay informed both in general and around trauma. Gunjani is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Life Coach, Speaker, and a writer. She runs a private practice called GPatelCounseling in San Diego California and Florida, and specialises in Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and trauma. She is also a new mom to a 22 month old hyper-energetic but a very lovely boy and is in the process of relaunching herself after being on a hiatus for the last few years. Her newfound vision in life is to spread mental health awareness and normalize it, break the stigma associated with help-seeking and make an impact on other women going through life changes or a life phase through her story while growing through this rebirthing process of being a newly born mom herself. She will be launching her podcast in November called Traumatic Transformations with Gunjani Patel which will be dedicated to people going through challenging times or phase of life and are looking to find more peace and purpose through those times.  In each episode, she plans to share bite-sized actionable tips, tools, and strategies to aid their healing journey and learn from conversations with experts and insightful people in the world about their journey and transformations.
