#67: Making a Change ~ The Messy Middle (TRANSFORMATION SERIES #2)

from The Flow Habit Podcast - Creativity, Flow State, Manifestation, Intuition & Guided Meditation · host lauriesmith

When we're going through big changes in our lives, we can often reach a point where we feel as if nothing is familiar. The routines we used to rely on in the past no longer work the way they used to. Old frameworks or structures no longer exist. We can feel as if we don't know who we are or what to do next. Laurie E. Smith, Flow State Speaker, author of The Flow Habit, and podcast host refers to this as the "messy middle"--the chrysalis phase of change. In this episode, Laurie walks through two critical moments as we are going through transitions or this limbo or "in-between" stage of change. The first is when we led to of the outer form--we accept that what once was is no longer who we are now. We might grieve or feel sadness, or even struggle as we accept that the old form is dissolving. The second key juncture in this process is when we see a crack in the chrysalis. The light is shining through from the outside. We are being called by a greater flow or outer events to emerge, to experiment, to try out our new wings. This phase can take great courage as we slowly find our way from the safety of the chrysalis, or the incubation period in our lives and find our way into the outer world to share the new gifts we have gained as a result of having gone through the changes. We realize it is time to test our new wings. Laurie Smith, Flow State Speaker and host of The Flow Habit podcast shares some tips to make both key junctures in the transformation process easier and how flow can help. This is the first episode in a three-part series on how flow can help us navigate transformations and life changes.
