Hoe een verre oorlog ineens dichtbij komt.
Begin februari vlucht Yuliya met haar vier kinderen tussen de 1 en de 11 jaar uit Oekraïne naar Nederland. In Kiev, waar ze vandaan komt, neemt dan nog lang niet iedereen de Russische dreiging serieus. Maar Yuliya voelt zich niet veilig en besluit weg te gaan. Hier ontmoet ze Yula Altchouler, die haar wegwijs maakt in Nederland en voor haar vertaalt. Na de Russische invasie worden Yuliya’s zorgen om haar achtergebleven familie met de dag groter. Gaat het haar lukken om ook haar moeder naar Nederland te halen?
