84. Learning, belonging, and finding Self-Acceptance with Dana Kaplan

from Self Love Ignited with Katie Allen · host Katie Allen

Talking self acceptance and self love with a Jewish girl who grew up in the deep south of the United States is enlightening and shines a light on the story of self love that many can relate to. In this episode I am chatting with Dana Kaplan, Founder and Owner of Developing Empathetic Education with Dana (DEED)®. Dana shares her personal story and perspective of how she learned to love herself and continues to live her life in a way that feels good and true to her, regardless of what the world thinks. Dana also shares her unique philosophy about education and why self acceptance, self love, and truly knowing and embracing who you are is at the center of helping future generations thrive in a whole new way. Dana Kaplan is an Early Childhood and Social Emotional Awareness Expert, Pioneering DEIAB in ACTION from the womb to 12th grade. (*Diversity Equity Inclusion Access and Belonging). Dana’s tenure in the classroom provided her the landscape to design, pilot, and launch highly sought after programs in both NYC and Atlanta, Georgia. With over 16 years of classroom teaching and leadership, Developing Empathetic Education with Dana (DEED)® was founded. Self-awareness, accountability, and radical personal responsibility are the core elements Dana authentically teaches when working with youth and adults. Each intentional practice empowers learners of all ages to crush glass ceilings by effectively naming their feelings and emotions, honoring their positively powerful voice, and owning their choices and actions. Dana propels learners and families with highly effective communication skills, creating space for hard conversations and rich connections between home, school, and for adult learners, the workspace. Through 1:1 private sessions, parent and youth workshops, professional development, and speaking engagements, Dana’s niche approach to teaching unleashes vulnerability, invites self-acceptance, increases confidence, and fosters self-compassion. *DEED was founded in the fall, 2019 and launched March 2020. _____ Connect with Dana: 👉 Website: https://www.danakaplanteach.com 👉 Linktree: https://linktr.ee/danakaplanteach 👉 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/danakaplan_deed/ 👉 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dana-kaplan-9b19ab71/ _____ Connect with Katie: 💗 Website: www.katieallen.co 💗 Instagram: www.instagram.com/katieallencoaching 💗 Facebook: www.facebook.com/katieallencoaching
