9. Intuitive Birth: A conversation with Sophia Crawford

from The Sounds of the Rising · host Rochelle Hubbard

When I first came across Sophia on Instagram (there is a story behind that, which I share in the intro) I was immediately in love with the service she brings to this world, to women. Collectively we are rising to bring back the wisdom of the generations who passed before us. The wisdom that the Patriarchal system stole from us, and as such has caused us to be so lost, and has caused humanity to be so out of balance. There are very few places that this remembering is more important than in the birth space: where a woman enters that rite of passage from Maiden to Mother, and for her baby, at the point this new soul enters this world. These moments, one of the most crucial in both the mother’s and the baby’s life, are where the remembering can be the most profound + transformative, not just for them but, through their experience, for the whole of humanity, and Sophia’s role is being part of that remembering being reclaimed. Enjoy these words, wherever you are in life, play them to your daughters, and pass them on to other women. The more we share this wisdom, the more women who experience birth as it is meant to be, the more healing happens for those mothers, those babies, for their babies, and their babies beyond, but also for the generations that have passed. Collectively we heal. Collectively we rise. You can find Sophia on Instagram + also on her website, which I have linked below: https://www.instagram.com/theintuitivedoula/ https://theintuitivedoula.co.uk I mentioned a few things in this episode, which I have listed below for you: The book I mentioned was ‘Earth is Hiring’ by Peta Kelly - it is wonderful on Audible, as Peta is a great narrator of her own words, but I also recommend the written version as there are additional elements to it not on Audible.
