A Candid Conversation with Miranda Bezell
from Living with FASD · host Patricia Kasper
This week I am joined by Miranda Bezell, a portrait, landscape and wildlife photographer, who was diagnosed with FASD at the age of fourteen, but only began to understand the complexities of what that means in her life in October 2021 when she discovered the FASD online community. The power of feeling seen and heard for the first time motivated her to become an FASD advocate, which she has been doing ever since. Miranda hosts an online support group weekly. Miranda’s approach to advocacy is shaped by her life experiences of ACES and in the foster system. If you would like to join in on her weekly support meetings, you can connect with her at the email or social media contacts below. One is an app, called Habitica. The other is a book by BJ Fogg, called Tiny Habits. If you have felt isolated due to FASD either in you, or in your child, or if after listening you are wondering if prenatal exposure to alcohol may explain some of the struggles in your life, please join the Facebook community: Living with FASD Podcast.
