Sins of the Heart These involve internal attitudes and desires such as pride, envy, greed, and hatred. These sins can lead to outward actions - 1 Samuel 16:7 Reasons Why It’s Important to Work on your Heart 1. The heart is desperately wicked who can know it (Jeremiah 17:9). 2. Your actions are a product of what is in your heart (Proverbs 4:23, Jeremiah 17:10). 3. Your heart is the seat of all your thoughts. So the kind of thoughts that come into your mind is an indication of what what is actually in your heart (Proverbs 4:23, Psalm 51:10) 4. Your heart determines the course of your life. So work on it and guard (Proverbs 4:23). 5. Your heart is the source of all the various springs of life. The springs of finances, relationship, academics, spirituality etc. (Proverbs 4:23).
