African football to benefit financially from moving AFCON to June

African football is on the verge of changing for the better next month and this could possibly see the long standing case of moving the African Cup of Nations tournament from January to June being decided. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold an African Football Symposium between the 18th and the 19th of next month in Rabat, Morocco. The aim is to map the future of African football but the issue around the calendar and the timing of hosting the AFCONS is likely to dominate. Moving the AFCON could have huge broadcast revenue spin-offs as SABC Sport journalist Velile Mbuli found out.
