Pieter de Wit studied Mass communication at the University Nijmegen, Netherlands. He has been employed by OLON since 1982 and is its executive director since 1984. The Olon is the „Organisatie van Lokale Omroepen in Nederland“ or „Dutch Federation of Local Public Broadcasters (radio, television as well as teletext providers)“. Its aim is the promotion of local broadcasting and cable casting in general and to support and stimulate the cooperation between (independent, non-commercial) local broadcasting organizations in particular.
