We use the song Balance by Seth Avett to discuss the beauty in finding balance.     All rights to seth avett   Wake up knowing that I gotta give my best today Can′t expect to rest cause I passed the test yesterday Glad to feel my chest rising falling In the early morning crawling outta bed Gotta lot to be addressed today here we go Lift my head, toast the bread, roll my shoulders back Face a world delirious serious, as a heart attack Watch for sharks and bottom-feeding fish in the sea Tell my family I love'm unconditionally Priorities make the means, cash in the coffer Much more than these companies are willing to offer Old timers sayin son make hay while the sun shines And try to get enough to leave a stash for ya bloodlines Same time, safeguard your honor and integrity You′re falling face first if you're chasing celebrity Nah I'm not too concerned with getting validation But I wanna work hard enough to earn my vacation Success didn′t change me but I′ll tell ya what did Coalescence of the past and the present amid The pain and stress of divorce then falling in love again Losing loved ones to cancer then having a kid And knowing nothing could be quite the same ever again Once you feel that love you straighten up and pick up your chin Standing in my kitchen in the dark, heart filled with song Like Etta James singing at last, my love has come along The very next moment sweating what to do now Maybe I can't do this, nobody showed me how But deep down I know that ain′t true, my parents illustrated How to acclimate and navigate when days are complicated Once again I pretend to know but have to steal a line From AA and pray to take it one day at a time Searching for, hurting for, learning for, working for balance The blessings never go away but my ability to see them Tends to lessen through the day like the sunlight in the pm Shadows from a time when my mind filled with darkness Fill the valley floor of my life now regardless Of the evidence of glory I encounter every morning Laughter in my home and my soul forming into Melodies I hum then fill my lungs all the way Dancing in the ring while my fear falls away I'm on the shoulders of the crowd in the corner yelling out Adrian While the demons just crawl away on the mat Beaten down so bad that they never will recover But they do specialize in new ways to make you suffer So I keep an eye out for bats in the belfry Answer madness face to face amazing grace to keep myself free Keep my outlook healthy stay suspicious of the wealthy Turn the news off when they tell me: ′Kim took another selfie' No time to be a sucker, no time to be complacent No space to place the pity or the sorrow in the basement If the pain is in my lover′s hazel eyes I gotta face it If the chance to be a better man escapes I gotta chase it Looking for searching for working for hurting for learning for Looking for searching for working for hurting for Wanting more Wanting more Balance
