Looking at today, September 28th, we're expecting some beautiful beach weather across all our zones. Surf heights will be running around two feet throughout the region, with a low rip current risk, though remember that life threatening rip currents are always possible near groins, jetties, and piers.Starting in Brooklyn, we'll see mostly cloudy conditions until about 9 AM, then it clears out to sunny skies. Expect upper 70s with light south winds around five miles per hour. High tide at Coney Island will occur at 12:39 PM. The water temperature will be in the lower 70s, and the UV index is moderate, so sunscreen is recommended.Heading out to Southern Queens and the Rockaway beaches, conditions will be partly sunny until noon before turning sunny. Temperatures in the mid 70s with southeast winds initially, shifting to the south in the afternoon. You'll get low tide at East Rockaway Inlet at 6:06 AM, followed by high tide at 12:36 PM. Water temperatures will be in the lower 70s.Down in Southern Nassau, including Jones Beach and Long Beach, we'll have partly sunny skies until about 1 PM, then sunny for the rest of the day. Mid 70s and light southeast winds becoming southwest in the afternoon. High tide at Jones Inlet comes in at 12:23 PM, with water temps in the lower 70s.Moving to Southwestern Suffolk around Gilgo and Robert Moses State Parks, mostly cloudy skies until noon, then sunny. Mid 70s with light east winds shifting southwest in the afternoon. High tide at Fire Island Inlet at 12:04 PM, with water temperatures right around 70 degrees. Finally, out in Southeastern Suffolk, we're looking at mostly cloudy conditions until about 1 PM before clearing to sunny skies. Mid 70s with southeast winds becoming southwest. High tide at Shinnecock Inlet at 12:31 PM, and the coolest water of the day at upper 60s.Overall, today is shaping up to be a perfect beach day with light winds, sunny skies, and calm two foot surf. All rip current risks remain low, but always exercise caution near structural features and stay near a lifeguard. This is the final forecast of the season, so get out there and enjoy the beach while you can. Sunrise across the region between 6:41 and 6:48 AM, with sunset between 6:37 and 6:45 PM.
