Bringing the Sacraments with Aaron Watson

from Sacramental Whine · host David Oliver Kling

In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing Father Aaron Watson. Aaron is a recently ordained Priest within the Home Temple group.  In June of 2019, he completed his Diaconate studies in the Home Temple and was ordained as a Priest in Staten Island, NY.   He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Texts (Summa Cum Laude) with a minor in Biblical Languages. He also holds certification in Missions. He is a lifetime "member of the Alpha-Chi National Honor Society and is listed in the "Whos who" of College and University Students in 2006. He has studied under Dr. Lewis Keizer of the Home Temple, where he is currently working through their curriculum. He is a phone salesman by day and a Pastor by night. He feels called to build bridges between faith communities. Aaron started his ministry in 2002 while a student at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, WV. Preaching and teaching at small country churches. He continued his ministry until he fell ill in 2009. Diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and disillusionment with what the "church" had to offer, he began his search for God in other capacities for several years. His search led him to Catholicism, where he was confirmed on Easter of 2008. When that didn't help his disillusionment, Aaron began to study with the Sufis, where he developed a hunger for mysticism and esoteric studies. It was during this time that he discovered the Western Mystery Tradition. From 2008-2016 he found himself under many teachers trying to discover the kernel of truth that resides in all religious expression. We talked about: His elevator speech, how he talks about the Independent Sacramental Movement. His challenges and blessings within ministry. Chaplaincy and Hospice chaplaincy. Bringing the sacraments to people. Links: Home Temple. Convergent Streams: The Premier ISM Magazine. This podcast is produced by The Community of Saint George (The Young Rite).
