In this series of vocabulary lessons, the top 1,000 vocabulary words that appear on the SAT tests have been carefully chosen to be grouped in various categories. These words are also the most likely to appear on the SAT, ACT, GRE, and TOEFL. To create this list, we started with the words that give our users the most trouble and then ranked them by how frequently they appear on the SAT tests. If you only have little time to memorize the SAT words, this is the lesson you want to take. At least half of the words in the English language are derived from Greek and Latin roots.
