En este episodio Martín Garrido Lepe y Beatriz Rodriguez-Satizabal conversan con Andrea Montero Mora Doctora en Historia Económica por la Universidad de Barcelona. Actualmente es profesora en la Escuela de Historia e investigadora en el Centro de Investigaciones Históricas de América Central, ambas en la Universidad de Costa Rica. Andrea es, además, miembro del directorio de la Red de Historia Económica Iberoamericana. En su tesis doctoral busca entender mejor la evolución de la producción cafetalera costarricense en los últimos setenta años, diferenciados según tres etapas: el período de modernización cafetalera (1950-1980), el período del mercado regulado (1963-1989); y el período de mercado liberalizado (1989-2017). Su tesis ganó en 2018 el Premio Extraordinario a la mejor tesis doctoral del área de Historia Económica por la Universidad de Barcelona y en 2020 le fue otorgado eI Premio Jorge Gelman conferido a la mejor tesis doctoral de Historia Agraria otorgado por la Sociedad de Estudios de Historia Agraria (SEHA), España, 2020. Además, su tesis acaba de ser publicada como libro. La Red de Historia Económica Iberoamericana (RHEI) es una organización que busca ayudar en la difusión de las investigaciones de los y las jóvenes investigadores de la Historia Económica Iberoamericana. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
