Unter dem Motto "Zukunft gemeinsam gewinnen" beginnt am Montag der 36. Parteitag der CDU. In drei Tagen wollen die Parteimitglieder ihre Parteispitze wählen und das neue Grundsatzprogramm verabschieden. Über die Stimmung vor dem CDU-Parteitag und wie sich seine Partei zu CDU-Chef Merz positioniert, spricht Ferdinand Otto, Unionsexperte und Redakteur im Ressort Politik, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft bei ZEIT ONLINE. Im zentralafrikanischen Tschad stehen nach drei Jahren einer Übergangsregierung Präsidentschaftswahlen an. 2021 wurde Präsident Idriss Déby mutmaßlich im Kampf gegen Rebellen getötet und sein Sohn General Mahamat Déby übernahm die Macht. Im Tschad soll es laut Experten noch nie freie und faire Wahlen gegeben haben. Der führende Oppositionspolitiker Yaya Dillo wurde kurz nach der Ankündigung des Wahltermins im Februar von Sicherheitskräften erschossen, zwei weitere wichtige Oppositionspolitiker wurden von den Wahlen ausgeschlossen.
