Day 118—The Descent: Exodus 32:15-35

Moses comes down the mountain carrying the law of God written by the finger of God—and hears the camp before he can see it. The sound tells him everything. He breaks the tablets. He destroys the calf. He confronts Aaron, who says the calf just came out of the fire. And then, the next morning, Moses goes back up. Not because the rubble is cleared. Because the sin is still between Israel and God, and he is the only one willing to stand there.
