Certain Hope in Uncertain Times ("How Can We Pray For Each Other?") - Tim Eyschen - 24 May 2026

from Fraser Coast Baptist Church · host FCBC

How can we pray for each other? | 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12In this sermon we slow down and listen closely to the apostle Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonian church in 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12. Rather than simply telling us to pray, Paul shows us how to pray for God’s people. What does it look like to pray in a way that strengthens faith, deepens purpose and glorifies Jesus in the everyday life of the church?Paul’s prayer is richly focused and deeply pastoral. He prays not only for needs to be met but for lives to be worthy of God’s calling so that Jesus would be glorified in His people and His people in Him.This message invites us to reflect honestly as we look to answer the following questions:How often do we pray for our local church family? And when we do pray, do our prayers resemble the priorities we see in Paul’s prayer? If we were shaped by this pattern, it could change the way we pray for one another moving us beyond surface level requestsinto prayers that form Christ in His people and strengthen the witness of the church in the world. You’re invited to explore how to pray for each other the way Paul prayed for growth, for faithfulness and for the glory of Jesus Christ.
