Né en 1906 à Breslau, il est issu d’une famille aisée. Fils d’un psychologue, il reçoit grâce à sa mère une éducation chrétienne. Très tôt attiré par la Bible et les études, Dietrich Bonhoeffer fait ses études à Berlin puis à Tübingen où il se lance dans la théologie.
