Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor How do you discover God’s will when you need to know now? 1 Kings 12:1-13 **The Counsel of OTHERS Proverbs 9:9 12:15 19:20 20:18 24:6 15:22 “being the voice of God” CHOOSING THE RIGHT PEOPLE #1, Choose someone who has nothing to lose by telling the truth. #2. Choose someone who is where you want to be in life #3. Choose more than one person. #4, Choose someone you know, and someone you don’t. #5, Go into these conversations sensitive to the possibility that God may speak to you. ASK: #1: Are any of the options I’m considering outside the boundaries of Scripture? #2. What do you think is the wise thing for me to do? #3, What would you do if you were me? Two reasons we don’t do this: #1, Pride #2, we’ve already made up our minds God is willing to speak through the people He’s put around us
