Displaying The Fruit of the Spirit

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Sunday September 27 - Did you ever notice in Galatians 5 that as the Apostle Paul was encouraging the believers in Galatia to "stand firm in the freedom they have in Christ", when he mentions the evidence of the "works of the flesh," it is plural but when he speaks of the "fruit of the Spirit," it is singular? You know you are experiencing real freedom in life when you are walking and living in the Spirit and all the evidences of the "fruit" of the Spirit are being displayed in all your attitudes and actions.  A "work" is something you have to manufacture, whereas a fruit is something that is produce internally and from a source outside itself!  I've heard many people say, "I feel like I have love, but I am sure lacking in patience."  The truth is, when the Holy Spirit is truly in control of your heart and life, all the evidences of the fruit of the Spirit will be there too.  May the Lord help us "who belong to Christ Jesus to crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:24)  God bless!
