Dustin Olverson - From Military Vet to a Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Portfolio in Under 5 Years

from Proximity Podcast · host Clayton Gits Real

Dustin Olverson discusses the challenges he faced in his relationships with his parents and his partner, and how he understood that repeating the cycle of poverty and lack of parental involvement was not sustainable. He dropped out of high school and went straight into military service, where he saw action and helped clear bombs. He reflects on the importance of leadership, making sacrifices, and inspire individuals to take action and pursue their own dreams. Dustin talks about his transition from serving in the military to civilian life, and how he struggled with adapting to a new life. He found fulfillment in getting involved in real estate, which he initially did not have much experience with. After reading a particular book and attending a training seminar from Keller Williams, a residential real estate corporation, he was able to transition and grow his real estate team. Dustin now focuses on real estate investing, buying off-market properties, and flipping them, which accounts for the majority of his transactions. He emphasizes the importance of owning real estate to achieve true wealth and generational income, noting that building wealth through investing is a fraction of the cost compared to managing a real estate division. He also talks about the power of confidence, self-belief, and perseverance in achieving one's goals, and highlights the importance of having a mentor and receiving education in the field of real estate investment.
