A 2007 survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found that of the 35,000 U.S. adults surveyed, 44 percent had left their childhood religious affiliation. A follow-up survey in 2009 by the Pew Forum shows the percentage had grown to between 47 and 59 percent. Reported among those who claimed no particular religious affiliation was a "disenchantment with religious leaders and institutions".Many people are searching for hope and meaning yet have found that organized religion doesn't provide the answers. This is because we weren't created to experience religion, but relationship. Join us next Sunday as we launch a new series based on our second core value, "It's About Relationships, Not Religion".
