    The Church Defined - Bumper

What does the Bible define as “The Church”? Over the years, has the meaning of church been altered? And does the world view the church as a negative, polarized community that they want no part of? The church is more than just walls, a building, pews, and a pulpit. The Bible teaches us that each of us makes up the church. That we are to serve and love one another. That we should be a unified front for love, grace, forgiveness, and selflessness. How do we go about becoming the church that the Bible calls us to be?

    The Wonderful Cross - Bumper

The wonderful cross. No emblem is as powerful. A symbol composed of two lines, one vertical and one horizontal. So seemingly simplistic in its design it represents an intersection that in truth is more complex than we could conceive. The wonderful cross, the place where God and humanity were brought together in Jesus Christ, was the setting where the world was forever changed. The wonderful cross, an instrument of torture that became a place of peace. The wonderful cross, an emblem of death that became the means to eternal life. The wonderful cross, where Jesus willingly laid down His life for you and me, forever showing God's great love and justice. The wonderful cross, while appearing to be the place of defeat, became the symbol of the greatest victory.

As 2025 comes to a close, join Pastors Aaron, Greg, and Steve for a relaxed, pastoral roundtable designed to help our church pause, reflect, and refocus. Together, they look back on where God has been faithful, speak candidly about the challenges they have faced, and share hope for the year ahead. 21. 745

God’s Love Calls Us to Worship

The Magi’s journey to worship Jesus reminds us that God’s love calls for our whole-hearted worship and adoration.

  22. 744

    A Peace with Purpose

The first Christmas did not take place in a calm or peaceful world. It unfolded amid political unrest, spiritual darkness, and ordinary people trying to survive uncertain times. Yet into that chaos, heaven broke open with an announcement of peace. God did not remove the chaos; He entered it. And when He did, He invited ordinary people to respond with faith and action. This Christmas, we’ll discover how God’s peace still meets us where we are, and how that peace carries a purpose that calls for a wholehearted response.

  23. 743

    Humility was the Plan

God often works through ordinary people and circumstances to fulfill His extraordinary purposes. Join us as we reflect on the humble setting of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem.

  24. 742

God’s Plan is Greater Than Our Understanding

This week, we look at Joseph’s story in Matthew 1 and discover how God’s unexpected plans often lead to His greatest purposes. When life doesn’t make sense, God is still working. Join us as we learn to trust His perfect plan, especially in the moments that stretch our faith.

  26. 740

    Prepared for His Coming

What does it mean to live ready for Christ’s return? Paul reminds us that Jesus will come unexpectedly, calling believers to stay spiritually awake and alert. As children of the light, we are called to live with faith, love, and hope, reflecting God’s truth in a world of darkness.

  27. 739

    Encouraged by His Coming

The return of Christ offers deep hope and lasting comfort in seasons of grief and uncertainty. As we walk alongside those who are hurting, may we gently point them to the promises found in His return.

  28. 738

Living in Light of His Return

In Light of Christ's return, we are called to live in a way that pleases God.

  30. 736

    Hope Beyond the Wilderness

The wilderness we are in is temporary. One day, God will restore and renew His creation. We have the ultimate hope through Christ Jesus.

  31. 735

    Renewal in the Wilderness

God uses the wilderness to renew our strength and remind us of His presence.

  34. 732

    This Pastor's Heart

What's in our hearts comes out in our lives. What fruit are we producing? May our lives be pleasing to Jesus.

  35. 731

    Provision in the Wilderness

The wilderness is where we learn to depend on God for our daily needs.

  36. 730

    The Purpose of the Wilderness

God often meets us in the wilderness to reveal His purpose and call us into action.

  37. 729

Resurrection and the Hope of Glory

The resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith and the source of our eternal hope.

  38. 728

    Worship with Order and Reverence

Worship must reflect God’s holiness, love, and order. How do we best use the gifts that we have been given for the good of the body and to glorify God?

  39. 727

    Liberty and Love

Freedom is one of the most treasured words in our vocabulary. We love the idea that in Christ we’ve been set free—free from sin, free from the law’s condemnation, and free from trying to earn God’s favor. But here’s the question: What do you do with that freedom? Together, let's explore how our freedom in Christ calls us to put others first, even when it costs us something. Because real liberty isn’t about demanding our rights—it’s about laying them down for the sake of love and the mission of God.

  40. 726

    Marriage, Singleness, and Devotion

Whether married or single, every believer is called to wholehearted devotion to the Lord.

  41. 725

    Honor God with Your Body

Our culture says, “It’s your body—do what you want.” But God’s Word tells a different story. This week, discover why your body isn’t just flesh and bone—it’s a temple. A place where the Holy Spirit dwells.

  42. 724

    Justice and Witness

"Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? " The Church should be mature enough and wise enough to settle disputes without involving the world.

  43. 723

    Purity in a Permissive Culture

In a world that celebrates “anything goes,” the Church is called to live set apart—for God, and for the good of one another. But what does it look like to pursue purity in a time when sin is redefined as personal freedom, and accountability is mistaken for judgment?

  44. 722

    A Cross-Shaped Ministry

In a culture that celebrates popularity, self-promotion, and outward success, the Church is called to something radically different. Paul addresses the Corinthian believers—people swayed by worldly wisdom and status—and reminds them what it means to be a servant of Christ and a steward of the mysteries of God.

  45. 721

    Growing Up in Christ

    Spiritual maturity is seen in Christlike character, not in religious performance or church activity. Stay ConnectedWebsite: https://www.lifechurchcalvert.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lifechurchcalvertInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/lifechurchcalvertYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/lifechurchcalvertCopyright License: 11020401Streaming Plus License: 20985319 #lifechurchcalvert #lovegod #lovepeople #makedisciplesofjesuschrist #lcc #teachingseries #christchurchculture #christ #church #culture

    Spiritual Wisdom vs. Cultural Wisdom

In a culture that celebrates human reasoning self-made "truth" follower of Christ must live with spiritual discernment. Where does real wisdom come from? How can we recognize it? And how do we align our lives with the mind of Christ rather than the noise of the world? May we discover how the Holy Spirit leads us to a wisdom the world cannot understand but our hearts deeply need.
