Ab 2026 wollen die USA zeitweise US-Waffensysteme in Deutschland stationieren. Das haben Deutschland und die USA in einem gemeinsamen Statement am Rande des Nato-Gipfels in Washington mitgeteilt. Angesichts des russischen Angriffskriegs in der Ukraine wollen die USA die militärische Abschreckung zum Schutz der Nato-Partner in Europa verstärken. Wie Russland auf die Ankündigung reagiert hat und warum die Entscheidung in der Bundesregierung für Überraschung gesorgt hat, erklärt ZEIT-Korrespondent Jörg Lau. Die israelische Armee hat die Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner von Gaza-Stadt dazu aufgerufen, in den Süden des Gazastreifens zu fliehen. Sie sollen die Stadt über "Sicherheitskorridore" verlassen und sich zu Schutzunterkünften begeben. Auf Flugblättern, die das israelische Militär über Gaza-Stadt abgeworfen hat, heißt es, dass die Stadt weiterhin ein "gefährliches Kampfgebiet" bleibe.
