Emerson McCuin | Building RevOps success through processes and AI

from RevAmp by DealHub.io · host DealHub.io

Emerson McCuin is the Head of RevOps at Haas Alert. DealHub's Mark Lerner had the opportunity to sit down and chat with him on the sidelines of the HubSpot Inbound conference.Emerson's journey to RevOps is not your ordinary one - he started in social work, moved to sales, and, in the process learned to build a "Shadow" CRM to better align it with his own process. Soon after, other people within the company started asking him to build the same thing for them. It was then that he realized that it was in building processes and systems that he found his true calling. He found his way to his current RevOps role by answering a question posed in a Slack channel about what to put on a RevOps job description. Emerson said "forget the job description, hire me and we'll figure it out together".Emerson is a big advocate for leveraging AI to "democratize" building internal systems. Where there was once a blocker when you needed dev resources for something, you can now build it yourself with help of ChatGPT. But, it's not magic and you need to know the ideal end state is, or you'll end up with garbage. Emerson's champions HubSpot CRM and is excited about some of the big AI innovations leading the CRM into the future.

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
