Ep 91: Running Past Cancer with Lindsay Hawker

from Run with Fitpage · host Vikas Singh / Lindsay Hawker

In this week's episode of Run with Fitpage, we speak to a very inspirational athlete - Lindsay Hawker, who is not just a good runner, but a mother, a wife, a woman, and a fighter. Lindsay and Vikas discuss her journey to victory over breast cancer and how running made a change in her life. Lindsay was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 34. She vowed to do everything in her power to make sure she beat cancer. When her doctors indicated that walking would increase her healing, she started walking. Then she started running six weeks after her double mastectomy.  Suddenly she started developing an interest in running. Lindsay has also run the Chicago Marathon recently and is now a 100% plant-based athlete. “I did chemo and cancer,” she said. “Running is hard, but cancer is harder, hands down. I know that if I did that, I can basically do anything.”12 ways to know if you have breast cancer, learn here: https://www.knowyourlemons.org/Vikas hosts this weekly podcast and enjoys nerding over-exercise physiology, nutrition, and endurance sport in general.  He aims to get people to get out and 'move'.  When he is not working, he is found running, almost always.  He can be found on nearly all social media channels but Instagram is preferred:)Reach out to Vikas:Instagram: @vikas_singhhLinkedIn: Vikas SinghTwitter: @vikashsingh1010Subscribe To Our Newsletter For Weekly Nuggets of Knowledge!
