Episode 1: How Would You Restart Life?

from Clearly Unclear · host Nicole, Jay Ren and Shivendra

Jay Ren posed an interesting question; What, if anything, would you change about your life if you could? Anything from nationality to occupation. This prompted discussions on the nature of regret and the personal uncertainties in our respective lives. As soon to be university students, entering the next great phase of our lives, you may look forward to a poignant reflection on what we’ve been through and what we would like to change about ourselves and the world around us. Obviously however, we digress into discussing death, Shiv’s favourite book, and other things, as is typical of an episode of Clearly Unclear. His objective was an accurate rendering of Mr. Bastiat's words and ideas into twentieth century, idiomatic English. A nineteenth century translation of The Law, made in 1853 in England by an unidentified contemporary of Mr. Bastiat, was of much value as a check against this translation. In addition, Dean Russell had his work reviewed by Bertrand de Jouvenel, the noted French economist, historian, and author who is also thoroughly familiar with the English language. While Mr. de Jouvenel offered many valuable corrections and suggestions, it should be clearly understood that Dr. Russell bears full responsibility for the translation. Unclear and Present Danger Jamelle Bouie and John Ganz New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie and freelance writer John Ganz delve into the world of 90s post-Cold War thrillers with Unclear and Present Danger, a podcast that explores America in an age of transition to lone superpower, at once triumphant and unsure of its role in the world. Project Likkutei Torah 3-Year Cycle תו"א/לקו"ת Rabbis Yaakov Cahnman and Avraham Katz Join us as we complete the entire Torah Ohr and Likkutei Torah of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, aka the Ba'al HaTanya in just 3 years.Affectionately referred to by many as "The Chassidishe Parsha", these discourses allow one to get a fundamental grasp on the entirety of Chabad Chassidic thought that pertains to any given Parsha, Holiday, or Shir HaShirim. Rabbi Avraham Katz brilliantly divides the entire work so that each week one is able to learn at least one discourse that relates to the weekly parsha or proximate holiday, while at the same time completing the entire Likkutei Torah on Shir HaShirim. The classes are taught by esteemed Rabbis Nissan Dovid Dubov and Chaim Wolosow, clearly reading the Hebrew text following the English translation phrase by phrase, allowing the listener to follow along in the original text if they would like.
