Episode 22-The Reason Why You Need An AR-15 Conversion Kit Now!

from Tactical Blue Podcast · host Hector Solis

Last year, my old sergeant told me I should get an AR-15 Conversion Kit. He gave me good pointers about the pros and cons of making this purchase.  The holidays, vacation, and other expenses delayed me from purchasing the conversion kit. But first, what is a conversion kit.  The Conversion Kit As you know, AR-15 is a very customizable weapon. You can add a scope, red dot, change the trigger to make it more sensitive, add side rails to mount flashlights, lasers, and other tools to the weapon. You can also convert your AR-15 from 5.56/.223 to .22LR by changing the bolt carrier.  The Bolt Carrier The first thing I did was research, research, and more research. I didn't want to pay a high price for the bolt carrier because it would cancel the savings (I'll explain later). So I Google different sites, read reviews and AR-15 online forums. Finally, I found one - the CMMG .22LR Conversion Kit.  The Company CMMG, Inc is an American based company established in 2002 by four partners who had a vision of making affordable AR-15s. The company emphasizes they are committed to serving the public based on Christian Values and Morals. The parts and workmanship are 100% American Made. Their customer service goes beyond promises, and they guarantee their product against defects in material or workmanship for the life of the product!  Final Thoughts Why do you need a conversion kit? My personal belief is: #1. It saves you money on ammo. 1000 rounds box of 5.56 runs between $300-400. If you are going to be shooting often (as you should!), these amounts will add up! #2. Learn the basics, plus extra. Not only accurate shooting, sight alignment, breathing, trigger control, etc. Also, tactical training like shooting around vehicles, barricades or other objects. Moving and shooting, immediate action drills and weapon transitioning.  #3. Training. By saving more money, I can buy more ammo to train on what I feel I need to improve and you could too!  #4. Is fun to shoot... say no more!  I hope this information I provided helps you get more training hours and hopefully save your life one day. My goal is to educate law enforcement officers about other options out there. Always think outside the box.  Sgt. Solis "Don't be an Ass, Be an Asset!"  Follow me: Website: Coming Soon!
