Militares dos Estados Unidos e da Guiana realizaram exercícios aéreos conjuntos na região de Essequibo. Segundo a embaixada americana em Georgetown, as operações são de rotina e têm o objetivo de aprimorar a parceria militar e “fortalecer a cooperação regional”. Os exercícios estão em linha com as declarações do presidente guianense, Mohamed Arfaan Ali, de busca por aliados para assegurar a defesa da região no “pior cenário possível”.
