Reminiscences of Forts Sumter and Moultrie in 1860-'61 (version 2) by Abner Doubleday (1819 - 1893)
LibriVox
Abner Doubleday was a busy man. He rose to be a major general during the American Civil War, started the first cable car company in San Francisco, and is credited (though perhaps erroneously) with inventing the game of baseball. In 1861, he had the distinction as a captain to be second-in-command of Ft. Glasgow Global Security Network International Conference 2013
University of Glasgow
GGSN International Conference 2013On 8-9 November the conference was held at Glasgow University. The final list of speakers covered a wide range of specialties from senior civil servants and soldiers to academics from the United Kingdom and around the world. The speakers discussed the implications of Scottish independence and security not only for the potentially new nation, but for the rest of the United Kingdom and the world. The coverage that the conference received was extraordinary. Different aspects of it were discussed in the Guardian, Herald, Telegraph, Times, Scotsman and Daily Mail. BBC Newsnight Scotland also ran a segment on the event the night before we started. Because of this intense interest, and because we have received many requests from the public for more information, we have decided to make the recordings from the event readily accessible online.

Joshua Martyn
Spotlighting inspiring missionary endeavors around the WORLD. Our mission statement since our beginning in 1986 has been: "Through the funding of national and native preachers, we endeavor to effectively advance the Gospel where it has never been preached before." We don't play at missions. We are serious, career missionaries, who have given our time and abilities to reach the tribes and nations that are primarily closed to us - by supporting the men who God already has in place - helping them evangelize and train others. It is our hope that you too, whether missionary, pastor or layman; whether church, bible study group, individual or family, will help us help them. We fully believe that we can present the gospel to every man, woman, and child alive in our lifetime - if enough of you join with us to accomplish that goal.
