Freedom To Serve God and Others

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Monday September 21 - Do you ever wonder why you can't do the right things that you know you ought to be doing?  The Apostle Paul addresses this problem in Galatians 5:17 "For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do."  The moment you become a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into your life to assist you and empower you to obey and do the things that please God.  But we still have the "old nature", the flesh that lives in us too.  There is a constant war between the two.  That's why Paul writes in verse 16, "But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."  May the Lord help us today to learn to live and walk in the Spirit in every area of our lives!  God bless!
