1. push one's buttons 故意的激怒某人 Phoebe对Ross生气了，但其实她自己也不知道是为什。她说Ross的时候用了这样一句话That guy can push my buttons.Push(press) one’s buttons 故意的激怒惹恼某人。 Don’t push my buttons. 你可别惹我「buttons」是表示「惹某人生氣的按鈕」，也就是你明明知道做什麼、說什麼會讓某人生氣，又偏偏去做、去說；而且，這些事情可能別人覺得沒什麼，但對這個人而言就是挑釁的行為。因為這個慣用語有「A 了解 B 的情緒弱點」的意義，所以也經常用「A really knows how to push B's buttons.」的方式來表達。Phoebe: (after he's gone) I am so sorry you got caught in the middle of that.
