Getting It Right on the B40 Terminology

We often use the term “B40” as a shorthand for poor or low-income households. The Khazanah Research Institute (KRI) recently released a report which suggests we should rethink using the term “B40” as a shorthand for poor or low-income households. KRI propose to demarcate different categories of households by factoring in location, household sizes and consumption levels.
