We all have access to the same amount of time during the day, but how we use our time is completely different, if you often find yourself wondering where your time has gone, then join Fredrik and Charlie as they discuss time management skills and debunk some myths. Today they discuss ways to make your work into a vacation, choosing wisely who to spend your time and energy on and the importance of creating a schedule rather than an ever-growing ‘to-do list’.   KEY TAKEAWAYS We pretty much have all the same amount of time available, it is just more about what we decide to do with our time. There are lots of ideas and aspirations of what your dream week might look like, it is really worthwhile to think about, there are many questions you can consider about your own dream week, and to be able to live this you will probably need to be able to finance it in once way or another.   “We all get the same 168 hours each week.” is a true statement, but we all use those hours very differently. How you set up your life could be a way of how you can make your work into your vacation. There are many of your tasks that you are able to get done from a different company by working remotely, this is one example of how you can turn your job into a vacation.   Spending time with people that drain your energy might not be ideal. There are some people who we really want to spend more time with, and some people who we should spend time with but for some reason, we don’t.   Some things may be easy to do but many believe it is easier to do simply do nothing, and to stay in a none action mode, to pick up your phone and procrastinate. If you have a routine in place, procrastination may not be as big an issue as it will eventually become second nature and the longer you have something in your routine, the less you want to break it.   Instead of having a ‘to-do list’ it may be more effective to schedule things. If you place things into your daily schedule, this means it actually gets done instead of just having an ever-growing list of things to do. One of the most important skills we learnt from school was the importance of having to stick to a schedule in order to get stuff done.   Another trick when it comes to not having enough hours in the day is to prioritise your time wisely. We often know what will really help us towards our own goal, and this can hopefully help you to prioritise what is most important to you, your team, your company or wherever you like to pin your focus. BEST MOMENTS “There are so many ideas around time, and how to use your time in the best possible way.” “It is really important, how you spend time with different people.” “Usually whoever screams the loudest gets the most attention, and that is not at all how it should be.” “Do you want to fill your day or do you want your day to fill itself?”   VALUABLE RESOURCES Subscribe: Invest In You Podcast Order and Read Trust is the New Currency book by Sheila Holt & Fredrik Sandvall Kickstarter How To Make Money As A Teenager book   ABOUT THE HOST Serial entrepreneur Fredrik Sandvall loves sharing ideas and interviewing world-class entrepreneurs and influencers.
