It just made it under the radar in 1984, making its budget back. A year later, it's likely to have been a PG-13 film and because of that, a huge flop.Ice Pirates' budget was cut in half during production and rewritten as a comedy. It stars the late great Robert Urich, with a scene stealing segment featuring legendary writer/raconteur Bruce Vilanch and a troupe of Amazons!
