Inspector Peters from Winnipeg Police Service

from Our City, Our Podcast · host City of Winnipeg

Inspector Helen Peters is the Divisional Commander of the Central District for the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS). She has loved the problem solving part of police work since she was growing up in rural England. Before getting hired, she dreamed of being part of the WPS for ten years. Today, as a leader in downtown safety, she works hard so people can be proud of where they live. Inspector Peters sees the glass half full for everything, particularly our downtown. She believes in the power of appreciating what you have while always asking “How can I help?” You can find her taking city transit or walking around downtown in uniform or in plain clothes. She greets everyone she passes with a smile. She might have smiled at you at one point. She believes no matter what brings you joy in life, you can find it here in Winnipeg. This podcast is recorded in Treaty One Territory, the home and traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininew, and Dakota peoples, and in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge that our drinking water comes from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, in Treaty Three Territory.  What programs and services impact you the most?
