Inspiring Insights Episode #1: Honouring the Feminine - Treating PMS Naturally with Dr. Liz Dalglish, ND

from Reawaken Co. Inspiring Insights · host Reawaken Co.

Recently I've been pondering -- how can we women get back into alignment, back into our center, back to a place where we run just as authentically as we do efficiently.   Today we had a very special guest in the to help YOU get a hold of something that may have been puzzling you since puberty -- yup, we’re doing it!! Bringing your awareness to PMS & YOUR PERIOD.   Dr. Liz Dalglish is a licensed naturopathic doctor in good standing right here in the province of Ontario. She helps women get regular, painless and PMS-free periods.  Once we tune into our periods we will learn to live more intentionally and learn to come out stronger on the other side instead of feeling wiped and exhausted every time we have our period.   Due to tech issues, the video ended abruptly. My apologies! Here is a transcript of what you missed: HERBS to Ask Your Healthcare Provider About:  - For sleep - Chamomile This herb is considered a nervine, a relaxant! This herb’s fragrance truly augments the entire body’s nervous system. Traditionally its flowers are used as a TONIC tea (tonic is another word for nourishing, life giving). It helps release emotional tension that may be causing physical pain like cramping and is well-known for it’s strength in aiding digestion and easing stomach cramps. Now be careful with this plant because it is part of the ragweed family, so if you have allergies to ragweed or have hay fever, use cautiously.   For acute anxiety - Passionflower Passiflora Incarnata in the botanical world is also a nervine AND a sedative, great for general anxiety and restlessness and to help you get to sleep better. It's great for those that have the hot flush of anxiety as it is a cooling herb (has an affinity for nurturing the yin/feminine side of us).   More herbs: -- Black Cohosh This herb is a female endocrine modulator and anti-inflammatory. It is actually used more so for PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome - where there is an excess of androgens in the body) and for fibroids. Both these conditions can go undiagnosed and are often dismissed as PMS.  -- Verbena (commonly named Vervain) This is a great ALTERATIVE (cleansing and hormone-clearing herb), with specificity and affinity for the feminine as well. Typically used as a calming nervine for anxiety and depression as well.  Remember if you have ANY herb questions, talk to your integrative healthcare provider who is trained in these herbs - this is not health advice. Do not just take herbs on your own.  How can folks work with Dr. Liz Dalglish? Dr. Liz: "Find me on IG - it is my platform of choice at my handle @dr.liz.nd. I'm hosting my next FREE webinar Top 5 Tips to Eliminate PMS → Go to the link in my IG bio to sign up!"   *NOTE: None of these suggestions are meant to replace healthcare advise from a licensed healthcare provider. Please consult your primary healthcare provider(s) for more information.
