Invest In You: Health And Fitness Update

from Invest in You · host Fredrik Sandvall, Ivan Sandvall, Charlie Sandvall

How has lockdown affected your health and fitness journey? Join Fredrik, Charlie and Ivan today as they discuss how their fitness and lifestyle has been affected by COVID-19. Learn how to overcome the COVID restrictions when training, the benefits of volume training as well as how intermittent fasting can help weight loss.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic training for sports can be more challenging. If for your chosen sport, you require a partner to spar or play with then you may need to adapt your training style. Compensate for your lack of partner or trainer by concentrating on getting a high level of strength and conditioning as well as mastering cutting weight to be bigger than your future competitors. When competitions or matches resume, this will help you to win your opponents on a physical advantage rather than a skilled advantage.   Very often, we get stuck in a routine. This means that you will be doing exactly the same training programme which is often limited to just a few key muscle groups in the body (usually visual muscle groups). You may find that your body will plateau very quickly as you do not really push the limits of your training programme.   Volume training is really good for improving your endurance. Not only for today and tomorrow but for your whole life. It may not be as convenient, and it may take a longer time to train but it gives you things which will be valuable for life. The more you train something such as cycling, the more improvements you will see.   Intermittent fasting is when you have a feeding window. It is a lifestyle and diet that is based around when you are eating. The point of intermittent fasting is to have a small feeding window, for 8 hours a day and a large fasting window of 16 hours. This can allow your body to use fat as fuel which will reduce your body fat percentage.   Losing weight is never going to be easy. You have to surround yourself with people that reinforce you that it is not easy but who will support you. It is great if you have followers who know you that offer encouragement and who may use your weight loss as inspiration. The traditional way of losing weight is usually the right way. Whereby you are constantly putting in the hard work, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and doing your best.   BEST MOMENTS “Of course I didn’t know there was going to be a global pandemic, but I am still training as if it wasn’t there.”   “I allow a lot of time during the day to be in a calorie deficit.”   “It is just so nice to find oneself again.”   VALUABLE RESOURCES Subscribe: Invest In You Podcast Order and Read Trust is the New Currency book by Sheila Holt & Fredrik Sandvall Kickstarter How To Make Money As A Teenager book   ABOUT THE HOST Serial entrepreneur Fredrik Sandvall loves sharing ideas and interviewing world-class entrepreneurs and influencers.
