US-Präsident Joe Biden hat angekündigt, die Waffenlieferungen an Israel weiter einzuschränken, sollte das israelische Militär in die dicht besiedelten Gebiete der Stadt Rafah im Gazastreifen eindringen. Zuvor hatten die USA bereits eine Bombenlieferung ausgesetzt, nachdem israelische Soldaten am Dienstag in Teile Rafahs vorgerückt waren. Bidens Androhung, Waffenlieferungen zurückzuhalten, ist in Israel auf scharfe Kritik gestoßen.
