Jose Vazquez - Head Coach, Alabama State University

Next up on the ABCA Podcast is Alabama State head coach and this summer’s USA Collegiate Team manager, Jose Vazquez. Vazquez was hired as the head coach at Alabama State in the summer of 2016. In 8 seasons the Hornets have 6 SWAC East titles and won the SWAC championship in 2022. The 2023 squad posted a 41-18 record and a 26-4 conference mark. They were the NCAA Div. I leader in batting average at a .334 clip. Vazquez spent 14 years as an assistant at Alabama State and Bethune-Cookman and was honored with the ABCA Div. I Assistant Coach of the Year in 2013.
