from Driven By Us

World Champions 2025 Special - Welcoming Louise McEwen is Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Racing, where she leads the global brand narrative, visual identity and commercial strategy for the team’s racing operations.  But beyond branding and sponsorships, Louise is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion across motorsport. As part of McLaren’s pioneering inclusion efforts, she’s helped drive the creation of McLaren Next & Engaged Programmes to open up motorsport and STEM-related careers to under-represented and under-privileged groups.  Louise consistently emphasises that opportunities in motorsport shouldn’t be limited to the cockpit: “to be world-championship material and high-performance, you need different thoughts and perspectives” and she works to make sure roles across brand, marketing, engineering, commercial and beyond are open to all talents.  On a personal and symbolic level, 2025 saw Louise alongside her McLaren colleagues standing on the podium. At the Miami Grand Prix she accepted McLaren’s constructors’ trophy as part of the winning team, becoming one of the few women to stand on an F1 podium a visible testament to her dual role both behind the scenes and front-of-house for McLaren’s success.   Hosted on Acast. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
