LUVCAST 036: VIKIPOP

from Luvcast | Luv Shack Records · host Luv Shack Records

LUVCAST 036 is a musical journey, courtesy of Vikipop aka Viktor Szekrényes. Working in Budapests 'Trancewave' recordstore in the 90's, Victor amassed an extensive electronic music knowledge, which led to him becoming an edior for hungarian e-music website/magazine Freee.hu. It was almost a decade later that he decided to take the plunge and start DJing. Since 2012, Victor has been working as an assistant for german house-heavyweight Tensnake. His mix is a tribute to 'real' deep house music. In his own words: "There are no unexpected turns, no flashy elements, no unreleased tunes, I just tried to collect some of my all time favourite deep house tunes." The Brackenfield Records Anvil Audio Productions An off-beat homage to classic radio detectives of the 1940s and '50s, The Brackenfield Records offers comforting genre fare, sitting somewhere between cosy and hard-boiled crime fiction.Whether it's dealing with unfaithful spouses, off-the-rails celebrities, crooked businesspeople, or gun-toting no-gooders, Brackenfield never falters! The Shack Remy Maples Frank tricks Jimmy into going into a haunted forest. Really, that's all that happens. Boring, right? Juke In The Back Matt The Cat At the end of the Second World War, economics forced the big bands to trim their once great size and thus, the Jump Blues combo was born. Between 1946-1954, rhythm and blues laid the tracks for what was to become Rock n’ Roll. So how come, 75 years later, this vibrant and influential music is still so unknown to so many? Matt The Cat is going to change that with the radio program, “Juke In The Back.” These were the records that you couldn’t hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment. To hear all this great 1950s rhythm & blues, you had to go to “Juke In The Back.”
