Yeah… A little more… All right! Oh, hi. Sorry! I'm just putting a little tomato ketchup on my hot dog. Wait, you didn't think… no! Eww! It was ketchup! I love ketchup! You know who else usually loves ketchup? Astronauts! A lot of the food they bring to space is dried and flavorless, so ketchup and other sauces can help make it taste better. Maybe one day they'll even be able to make ketchup in space, on Mars. Yep! Scientists have created a special type of ketchup called Marz Ketchup. They made it using tomatoes grown here on earth. But they used conditions like those on Mars! The conditions on Mars are very different to Earth. The soil, temperature, and water conditions are all different. But they could still grow tomatoes, they could still make ketchup, and it still tasted good! Cool! Maybe one day, when people do go to Mars, the one thing they won't have to pack is ketchup! ________________________________ Vocabulary 模擬火星的自然環境來做番茄醬,結果味道沒有什麼不同。 1. This Impact Studios production is a collaboration with the Governor family, UTS Faculty of Law and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research. The Last Outlaws teamKatherine Biber - UTS Law Professor and Chief InvestigatorAunty Loretta Parsley - Great-granddaughter of Jimmy Governor and the Governor Family Historian Leroy Parsons - Governor descendant, Narrator and Co-WriterKaitlyn Sawrey - Host, Writer and Senior ProducerFrank Lopez - Writer, Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
