Mental Health and Suicide in the Black Community

from SAVED News · host savednews

#mentalhealth #suicideprevention #suicideawareness Mental health and suicide in the Black community have risen dramatically. The stigma of mental health problems in the community has prevented many from seeking help. Also, the lack of education on recognizing mental health and signs exhibited by a potential suicide victim prevents others from seeking help for loved ones. According to statistics, there's a dramatic increase in mental health issues and suicide in the Black community. Recently high-profile suicides brought attention to these issues. If you or your loved one has mental health issues and/or thoughts of suicide, you don't want to miss this SAVED News TV special as we delve into these complex issues. Our special guest is Ruby Brown-Herring, MED, BSW. She is the President of RBH Wellness Solutions, LLC. To get help, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, or text the Crisis Text Line (text HELLO to 741741). Both services are free and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All calls are confidential.
