In New York startet am Dienstag die Vollversammlung der Vereinten Nationen (UN). Erstmals wird auch der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj dort eine Rede halten. Im US-Kongress sperren sich unterdessen republikanische Abgeordnete gegen 24 Milliarden Dollar als Hilfe für die Ukraine. Wieso die Ukraine-Hilfen mit dem zunehmenden US-Wahlkampf wackeln, weiß Martin Klingst, Autor für ZEIT ONLINE. Der chinesische Verteidigungsminister Li Shangfu hat bereits seit zwei Wochen keine Termine mehr wahrgenommen und soll nun auch offiziell des Amtes enthoben sein. Li gilt eigentlich als Vertrauter des chinesischen Präsidenten Xi Jinpings, letzterer steht aber zunehmend innerparteilich unter Druck.
