Vinyl & more: linktr.ee/pokerflat_recordings It has been a stunning year 2002 for Glowing Glisses aka Florian Schirmacher and Guido Schneider. They produced their Poker Flat debut „Shaked Ladies“ in May 2002, which followed the already catchy deep tech-housy anthem „On the Bridge“, with remixes by Justus Köhncke and Rene Breitbarth as well as the Larry Heard remixes on Dessous Recordings). Poker Flat is very proud to present the Glowing Glisses debut album Silver Surfer“ which is a full length album featuring 12 tracks on CD-format as well as 6 tracks on vinyl, packed with fantastic tunes reaching beyond the typical scope of pure club-orientated club music. So what‘s the mystery behind the „Silver Surfer“? Having already caught clubheads, nightlife addicts, hedonists and of course music lovers it combines the well-reputated high standard, dry and groovy minimalism of which Poker Flat stands for in addition to Florian Schirmacher‘s vocal skills, rooted in 70‘s jazz and soul. Those roots explain the first association many people have while listening to the great „On The Bridge“ - a scenery like the legendary Paradise Garage with Larry Levan standing behind the magic wheels of steel! Certain energy seems to resurge from those days and touch not only this special track but adds an all over magic feel to the whole album.

Song Against Songs, The by G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Prince | Official Podcast The Prince Estate The official podcast dedicated to Prince, the singular artist and visionary.
