Over Indulgence Podcast – PAX Aus Day 1 Wrap Up

from The Over Indulgence Podcast · host The Over Indulgence Cast

After a long exhausting day browsing the wares and chatting to all the fine people of PAX, the Over Indulgence boys went back to their hotel room where a surprise was in store for them. SkeelsyShoota and Ben from the QuadFeed Podcast we're waiting at the hotel door to come say hey! We grabbed them, dragged them up to the room and started this episode as a wrap up of Day 1 of PAX Australia. Whilst we didn't manage to stay on topic the entire time, we did cover what we managed to see throughout the day. The day began by rocking up at 8am to enter the Hall at 9am with our sexy Media Passes. We spent the first hour before the onslaught of people walking around chatting to whoever we could, including shaking the hands of Jack and Ray of Achievement Hunter (much to Griff's squealing delight!) Went to visit Kim from Defiant Development, then sat down with Adrian from AllCanPlay to interview him on his new Gaming Social Media platform (that Interview can be found here.) After this Griff and Korth walked around for the remaining quiet period checking out some games and other booths around the area whilst Scarecrow headed off to have an interview with Alienware which will be uploaded later this morning! Then the doors opened... The flood of people tore through the hall rushing to their favourite companies or booths to see their favourite things. Griff and Korth wandered over to the Xbox One pavillion to check out some of the titles they had available, including a neat as hell little indie game entitled #IDARB where Korthal destroyed Griff 17 to 3. We then headed over to the Drop Bear Hall to have a listen to Ben Marrinan and Ryan Langley from Halfbrick Studios discuss the process involved in how Halfbrick makes a game. Some great insight and information was presented to the audience, especially for those interested in starting to make their own games. The rest of the day was spent chatting to random punters and seeing how they were enjoying PAX as well as just looking at everything PAX Aus had to offer. We left relatively early (3:30pm) in order to finish up our interviews we had done throughout the morning. Now we're ready for Day 2  with more interviews lined up and some additional information! Make sure to check back later tonight / tomorrow morning for our Wrap Up of Day 2 of PAX Aus as well as any interviews we may have managed to get done!
