PARASHAT VAYAKHEL-PEKUDEI (En English)
from Efrayimbenshalom
VAIAKHEL-PEKKUDEI Moshe gathers the people of Israel and reiterates to them the mandate to observe Shabbat and to build the Mishkan. The village donates the required materials in abundance, bringing gold, silver, copper, wool dyed blue, purple, and red, goat hair, linen, animal skins, wood, olive oil, herbs, and precious stones. Moshe asks them not to bring more offerings. The total costs of building the sanctuary are calculated. The work is inspected and approved by himself, then blessed the people for their contributions to this magnificent achievement. On the first day of the month of Nisan, almost a year after the departure of the Jews from Egypt, the Mishkan was erected under the personal supervision of Moses, and the elements were arranged inside in the prescribed order.
