Marie Nyx is back with her second EP titled “Nowhere to Run.” Following her single “Asteria,” Marie decided to focus on honing her deep, hypnotic techno sound. She was further affirmed after playing the City Steps stage at Crssd Festival last fall that she was on the right sonic journey with her primary focus on techno. The fast tempo and driving groove of both tracks on Nowhere to Run ignites a powerful energy with both listeners and dancers alike. Nyx is releasing her EP this month in celebration of her upcoming b2b techno set with Materielle at Reform Festival. Today we highlight her track “Escapism”, as it solidifies the intention of the EP. While writing this EP, Nyx was on a journey of self-discovery. “Escapism” embodies her feelings of solace in the studio and on techno dance floors as a hiatus from sitting in a space of growth, reflection, and discomfort. This track is inspired by the nostalgia of raving in the late 2000s where Nyx found grounding and alignment through electronic music.
